In Europe and the Americas this is a very important day on which people express their feelings and desires for each other by openly declaring their love. On this day people give Valentine day cards, flowers (especially red roses) and confectionery. This day is named after early Christian martyr named Valentine. This day is now officially associated with romantic love.

The most common symbols of Valentine’s Day include heart-shaped outlines, doves and figures of winged cupids. The exchange of hand written love notes is also a very common practice on this day. Valentine’s Day is a very important day for lovers all around the world. On this traditional day romance and love are celebrated openly. People are in high spirits and celebrate this occasion in the most brilliant fashion.

Valentine’s Day is the only day on which a couple can celebrate their togetherness. Valentine’s Day has been celebrated for centuries all across the globe. This day was created by church to celebrate and to focus all attention on the church. But today this day is celebrated for completely different reasons. This day is the universal day of love and romance.

Valentine’s Day is not only important for lovers but for other people also. On this day a message of peace and goodwill is circulated. People should try to overcome all fears, terrorism, wars, murders and other destructions on this day. Valentine’s Day is also a symbol of world peace. This is a special day when people forget all hatred and envy and think only about love and peace.

Valentine’s Day is not only meant for couples but also for every person who loves someone. It may be the love between a mother and daughter or a sister and brother. People should learn to respect and love each other irrespective of race, nation or religion. This day should be remembered as a day when foes become friends and when all enmity is forgotten.

For those women whose partners are not normally romantic, this is a day where they can also express their romantic feelings. Some people do not like Valentine’s Day because they do not find any reason to celebrate. Valentine’s Day can be celebrated with family, friends as well as lovers. You do not have to love some one romantically in order to feel special on this day.

Express your love and desire for the person you love the most by giving them special gifts, offering them flowers and writing romantic poems for them.
